I chose to have a homebirth because I  feel that hospitals still struggle to provide the environment and care a normal healthy pregnant women needs to birth in her own time, safely and without anxiety or fear of being 'managed' by a medical model.

Some women have always known where they want to give birth be it home or hospital for others pregnancy is a journey of discovery.  For some women and their partners this decision  may not come until the end of pregnancy.  As a midwife I wish to support in this process providing and sharing information as appropriate.

My second baby Amir was born at home after a quick labour on the 4th of May 2009.  What an amazing experience!! To my midwife Tess Back words escape me (for once) your the best.  My husband Ali, little boy Hussein, my friend Melissa and her children Jemima, Bo and Elijah were all there to share my joy in inviting Amir in to the world.
